Ingredients: 

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1 jar of Gundelsheim Barrel Sauerkraut
  • 2 tins (à 400g) of tomato pieces
  • 400 ml vegetable stock
  • 2 Tbs. tomato purée
  • 1 (425ml) can of sweetcorn
  • Salt, pepper, sugar
  • For the cheese croutons:
  • 1 small baguette (= 200g)
  • approx. 120g of grated cheese

For the Fasskraut chilli, heat oil in a pan and fry minced meat. Peel and dice the onions, wash the chilli pepper, dice finely and add both to the sauerkraut and fry briefly. Add tomatoes, stock and tomato purée, cover and cook for approx. 20 minutes. Pre-heat the electric oven to 200 degrees. Slice baguette, place slices next to one another on a baking tray covered with baking paper, sprinkle with the cheese and bake for approx. 5 - 10 minutes till crispy (electric and gas oven: 200 degrees/mark 4, fan oven 180 degrees). Drain sweetcorn, add to Fasskraut chilli, season everything well with salt, pepper and sugar and serve with the crispy slices of baguette.
