About Gundelsheim

One town - one name - one brand

Gundelsheim was founded in 1920 as the "Schwäbische Conservenfabrik Hofmann & Ziegler in Gundelsheim". The town of Gundelsheim is located in the charming valley of the Neckar, south of Heidelberg. It was founded during the 8th century and the castle was built in the 12th century. At a later date, the company adopted the name of the town as its own brand name. The company was founded to manufacture gherkins, fruit and other vegetables. The plant included a vinegar brewery and a mustard mill. The company's main products are sweet and sour pickled gherkins. In 1926 Gundelsheim was taken over by Carl Kühne KG (GmbH & Co.) and business was continued as before.
